FUNERAL SERVICES
Musa Wynn Amaker
Musa Wynn Amaker, 87, a retired bookkeeper of Hanahan died Monday, December 28, 2009.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 1, 2010, at Bull Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery with Bishop Spencer Clark officiating.
Mrs. Amaker was born in Georgetown, a daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Effie Blanche Wynn.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include her daughter, Terry Biorn, of Hanahan: and six grandchildren, Celia Forsythe, Beckie Dobbs, Shane Biorn, Laura Biorn, Erin Biorn, and Christine Biorn.

Irone Canteen
Irone Canteen, 31, died on December 27, 2009 in Georgetown.
He was born on October 31, 1978, a son of Linda Williams Canteen and Mack Canteen Jr.
He graduated from Choppee High School and worked for a period of time with Grand Strand Personnel.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Upon This Rock Ministeries on S. Fraser Street conducted by Apostle Edna Rice.
Burial will follow at Morning Glory Cemetery.
Surviving are his parents; two children Ja’Cori and D’essence Jackson both of Newport News, VA; and four siblings, Andrew Canteen Ben Armstrong, Amanda Canteen and Keturah Canteen.

Danielle Holmes
Danielle Holmes, 30, died on December 26, 2009 in Summerville, SC.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Gospel Missionary Baptist Church in Greentown.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Surviving are her mother, Diane Eaddy of Georgetown; two brothers, Kevin L. Eaddy of Bennettsville, SC; four sisters, Felicia D. Cooper of Savannah, GA; four sisters, Felicia D. Cooper of Marietta, GA, Kimberly A. Buttone and Kierra Strong, both of Georgetown and Cassandra Manick of Summerville, SC; and her paternal grandfather,, Jonnie Green of Georgetown.
Viewing will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.

Herlene Pringle
Herlene Bromell Pringle, 87, of the Plantersville community died on December 26, 2009 in Georgetown, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul AME Church with burial following at the church cemetery.
Viewing will take place in the sanctuary of the church on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Mrs. Pringle was born on August 30, 1922 in Georgetown County, a daughter of Dan Bromell and Ellen Drayton Bromell.
Surviving are her children, Arthur, Franklin and Kevin, Mattie Mae and Effie Dell Bromell; her sister, Mary White.

Leana Rice
Leana Rice, 84, of the Pee Dee community of Georgetown County died on December 25, 2009 at Tidelands Community Hospice.
She was born on April 21, 1925 in Georgetown County, a daughter of John Sumpter and Carrie Moore Sumpter, both deceased.
She was married to Willie Rice who passed away in 2004.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Hartsville, SC.
Burial follows at the church cemetery.
Surviving are two siblings, Liston Sumpter and Mary G. Burroughs of Sanford, NC; and two nieces, Modestine Newby of Hartsville, SC and Alma Parker of Woodbridge, VA.

Mary Pope Sikes
Mary Sikes, 85, of Georgetown died Sunday, December 27, 2009, at Kingston Nursing Center in Conway.
Mrs. Sikes was born in Upper Georgetown Co. on August 10, 1924, a daughter of the late John Marion Pope and Mollie Caroline Goude Pope.
She attended the Pleasant Hill Schools. Mrs. Sikes retired as a cafeteria operator in1993 from the Georgetown County School system, having worked in the cafeterias of Winyah, Howard, and McDonald schools.
She was a member of Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church and served her church as a Sunday School teacher for many year.
Mrs. Sikes was also a member of the Women’s Ministry of the church.
Survivors are a number of nephews including, Malcolm Pope (Fran) of Socastee; and a niece, Patty S. Avant of Georgetown.
Mrs. Sikes was predeceased by her husband, Harry Tracy Sikes; and a daughter, Janice Lynn Sikes.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, December 30, 2009, at Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Officiating will be the Rev. Tommy Cox and the Rev. David Coker.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Annex.
The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.
