Vera Brave-Campbell
Mrs. Vera Brave-Campbell, 80, of Georgetown, S.C. went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence, S.C.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Bethel AME Church in Georgetown with Rev. Charnaine Ragin officiating.
Burial followed in St. Peter Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Campbell, a daughter of the late Mary Richardson Brave and Rev. Andrew Brave Sr., was born on March 28, 1932 in Georgetown.
She was educated in Georgetown County public schools and was a member of Bethel AME Church, where she served as a member of several boards and organizations at various times throughout her membership.
Survivors are her children, Barbara Campbell of New York, NY, Levonne Powell, Florence, S.C. and Larkin Campbell, Lithonia, Ga.; her siblings, Pearline Boswell, Camden, S.C., Andrew Brave, White Plains, N.Y., Susan B. Moultrie, Albertha McCray and Joseph Brave, all of Georgetown, and Dandy Maxwell of Tuskegee, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Loranza Cooper
Willie Lorenzo “Loranza” Cooper, 74, husband of Doris Ann McKenzie Cooper for 49 years, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.
Mr. Cooper was born November 13, 1937 in Georgetown, S.C. to the late Willie Leo Cooper and Martha Ann Johnson Cooper.
He retired from Greenwood Packing Company and also worked many years at Covil Insulation Corporation.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved gardening.
Mr. Cooper was a fan of NASCAR and the Clemson Tigers.
He was a compassionate, caring, and faithful man.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Willie Cooper and wife Angie; a daughter, Jennifer Cooper-Reynolds and husband Scott; a brother, Bernice Cooper and wife Julia; two sisters, Lois Cumbie and husband Sonny, and Shirley Newton and husband Rev. Ronnie; six grandchildren, Christin Cooper, Madison Reynolds, Cody Carpenter, Kayla Reynolds, Hayden Reynolds, and Taylor McDormott; great-grandchild, Hannah-Faith Cooper; and his beloved dog, Walker.
He was predeceased by a brother, Carthell Cooper.
Visitation was from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service.
Graveside services, with Military Honors, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Ronnie Newton and Rev. Norman Black.

John Daley Jr.
John F. Daley Jr. of Pawleys Island, S.C. died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in Pawleys Island after a short illness.
Mr. Daley was born August 23, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pa.
He graduated from the Taft School, in Watertown, Connecticut and the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va.
He served as a fighter pilot in the Ninth Air Force in Europe during World War II.
After the war he joined the DuPont Co. in Chattanooga, Tenn. and later transferred to Wilmington, Del., in Textile Fibers Marketing before leaving to form his own businesses.
In 1983, Mr. Daley retired to Georgetown, where he became involved in the community, specifically with The Architectural Review Board, Winyah Indigo Society, and War Birds.
He was also an avid boater spending six months out of every year cruising up and down the eastern seaboard with his wife of 60 years.
Their hobby was the restoration of their historic home in Georgetown.
Surviving are his wife, Mason Marston Daley; two sons, John F. Daley III of Norco, Calif. and W. Talbot Daley and wife Susan of Parkton, Md.; a daughter, Frances D. Marsh and husband Robert W. Marsh III of Centreville, Md.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Regenia Dease
Linen-Knox Funeral Home announces the funeral services for Mrs. Regenia Alston Dease, age 90, of the Dunbar Community of Georgetown County, S.C.
Mrs. Dease died on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul AME Church in the Plantersville Community with Rev. Rubin Smalls, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The remains will lie in state in the sanctuary of the church from noon until the hour of service.
Viewing will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Linen-Knox Funeral Home on 1632 Emanuel Street.
Mrs. Dease is survived by her seven children, Jannie N. Greene, Geraldine Bryant, Everline Knowlin and Mary Grant, all of Georgetown, S.C., Nathaniel Dease of New Haven, Conn., Samuel Edward Dease and Luther Dease, both of Baltimore, Md.; one sister, Nellie Rhode of Goldsboro, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Winifred Moore
October 30, 1918-April 11, 2012
Mrs. Winifred C. Moore, 93 passed away Wednesday morning at Tidelands Community Hospice in Georgetown.
Winifred was born in Lynchburg, Virginia.
She was the daughter of the late George T. Coleman and Winifred Rosser Coleman, and step-daughter of Nannie Coleman.
Mrs. Moore was the wife of the late Col. W. E. Moore, Jr. and the mother of the late Elizabeth A. Petersen.
Mrs. Moore is survived by a son, William E. Moore, III, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Connie M. Neiman of Pawleys Island; a brother, Mace T. Coleman of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, William Coleman of Lynchburg, Va.; grandchildren, Andrew Petersen of Fayetteville, N.C., Kristie Renaud of Newnan, Ga., Piper Webb of Winnsboro, S.C., Patrick Moore of Colorado Springs, Colo., Lisa Stetson of Atlanta, Ga., Jennifer Harmon of Anchorage, Alaska, Beth Moore of San Francisco, Calif.; along with her precious great grandchildren, Mace, Jake and Evan Moore, Andrew Harmon, Courtney, Emily and Katie Petersen, and Grayson and Keira Stetson.
She will be greatly missed by all.
Mrs. Moore and her late husband Bill retired to the Pawleys Island, S.C. area in 1967, after extensive traveling in the Air Force.
She loved to play golf, winning the Litchfield Country Club Women's Championship at the age of 75.
She was active in her church, All Saints Waccamaw Episcopal Church, delivered Meals on Wheels for 10 years and volunteered as a nurse at the Smith Medical Clinic.
Mrs. Moore was a graduate of the University of Virginia with a degree in nursing.
She served as a 1st Lt. In the Army as a nurse.
Mrs. Moore was also a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 14th at 2 p.m. at the small chapel at All Saints Waccamaw church.

James Moultrie Sr.
James Moultrie Sr. of Pawleys Island, S.C. died on April 4, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral services under the direction of Wilds Funeral Home, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Wilds Courtyard Chapel.
The remains may be viewed on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Moultrie was born on June 30, 1926 in Georgetown, S.C., a son of Fannie Jones Moultrie and James Moultrie (both deceased).
He was a U.S. Army veteran whose service in the military spanned 20 years.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Myrtle Point Moultrie, Pawleys Island; two sons, Jerome Moultrie of Columbia, S.C. and James Moultrie Jr. of Baltimore, Md.
Harold Ross
Harold Leon Ross of Belle Isle died on April 7, 2012 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services are under the direction of Wilds Funeral Home and will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Dickerson A.M.E. Church.
Viewing of the remains will take place at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Ross was born on December 6, 1936 to the marital union between Mr. and Mrs. David Ross in Georgetown, S.C.
He attended the public schools of Georgetown County and graduated from Howard High.
For most of his working life he was employed as a foreman with Sherwin Williams Company.
Mr. Ross was married to the former Miss Jacqueline Gibson Ross who predeceased him in 1999.
He was a faithful member of Greater St. Stephen A.M.E. Church.
Surviving are two children, Harold Galen Ross, Houston, Texas and Vera Commander, Conway, S.C.; and one brother, Ulyssess Dobbins, Newark, N.J.
George Wright Sr.
George Wright Sr. of Georgetown, died on April 7, 2012 at Tidelands Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Georgetown.
The remains will lie in state in the sanctuary of the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Wright was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on May 20, 1926, a son of Ceasar Wright and Daisy Chisolm Wright.
He was educated in the public schools of Beaufort County, S.C., and earned the B.A. and M.A. degrees in science and biology from S.C. State University, Orangeburg, S.C.
After 20 years of military service, Mr. Wright retired as a decorated captain in the United States Army.
He subsequently taught for a number of years in the Georgetown County School District, notably at Choppee High and Pleasant Hill High schools.
He was a long-time member of Bethel A.M.E. Church where he served on the Senior Steward Board, taught Sunday school, organized a Junior Usher Board and sang with several church choirs.
Immediate survivors are his wife of 62 years, Claudia Sherald Wright, Georgetown, S.C.; three children, Linda W. Lindsey, Georgetown, Lcdr. George Wright II (Retired), Columbia, S.C. and David P. Wright, Charleston, S.C.; and two brothers, Rudolph Wright and Joseph Wright, Brooklyn, N.Y.
