Georgetown County authorities are searching for two men accused of invading the home of a Murrells Inlet woman.
Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson said it happened at about 9 p.m. Wednesday at a residence on Hammock Avenue when the two white men wearing dark blue or black masks, dark hoodies and dark pants forced entry into the victim’s residence through a back door. They were armed with what appeared to be a handgun.
Once inside they demanded money from the victim.
“When the victim advised she didn’t have any money, the suspects exited through the back door. No one was injured in the incident,” Cuthbertson said.
The suspects fled into the woods behind the residence. The Bloodhound Tracking Team responded on scene with negative results.
Sheriff’s deputies canvassed the area in an attempt to locate the suspects or witnesses.
During the canvass, sheriff’s deputies were unable to locate anyone who witnessed the incident.
Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 546-5102.
