Murrells Inlet Community Theatre has announced its shows for 2008-09.

MICT will kick off its 11th season Nov. 6 with Nagle Jackson's "A Hotel on Marvin Gardens," a sophisticated comedy set in an island getaway off the coast of New England. Casey, the no-nonsense owner of an upscale magazine, and her publisher/lover are hosting their annual all-day Monopoly game. Joining them are the editor and his guest, the magazine's hoity-toity food critic. Casey plans to use the occasion to fire her editor, but her first priority is putting a hotel on Marvin Gardens. Play dates are Nov. 6 to 9 and 13 to 16.

A.R. Gurney's "Later Life" takes place during a party at a high-rise apartment overlooking Boston Harbor.

Funny and fast-paced, the play revolves around Ruth and Austin, two flawed characters who reconnect after 30 years. He is a well-mannered but somewhat neurotic banker; she is a free-spirited, four-times-divorced romantic. Both are utterly unfulfilled and now appear to be teetering on the edge of romance.

As they become reacquainted, a parade of colorful partygoers darts in and out, offering glimpses of life's infinite possibilities. "Later Life" will be presented Jan. 22 to 25, 2009, and Jan. 29 to Feb 1, 2009.

The award-winning "Visiting Mr. Green" by Jeff Baron will close out MICT's 2008-2009 season. Set in an Upper West Side Manhattan apartment, the play features just two characters. Mr. Green is an 86-year-old retired dry cleaner and recent widower. Ross is a 29-year-old corporate executive. When Ross nearly runs over Mr. Green in city traffic, he is ordered to perform community service -- specifically, visiting and assisting Mr. Green, who wants nothing to do with him. As the play unfolds, sometimes comically and at other times with great intensity, both men make life-defining revelations that threaten to distance them even further. Actor Eli Wallach starred in the world premiere of "Visiting Mr. Green" in 1996 and continued at Union Square Theatre in New York. Play dates are March 19 to 22, 2009, and 26 to 29.

Audition dates will be announced later.

Individual tickets are $10 and are available by calling 651-4152. Group tickets (15 or more people) and season tickets also are available. Seating is limited and issued on a first-come, first-served basis. All performances take place at the Murrells Inlet Community Center, 4450 Murrells Inlet Rd.
