A 60-year-old Georgetown man died Saturday morning following a Friday afternoon motorcycle crash.
Melvin Richard Perry Jr. was pronounced dead at 2:45 a.m., Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said.
Perry was the driver of a northbound motorcycle that ran into the back of a sport utility vehicle that had slowed for traffic just north of the Garden City Connector on US 17 Bypass at 2:36 p.m., Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins said.
Perry and a passenger on the motorcycle -- both thrown from the bike -- were taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
No charges have been filed in the crash and it remains under investigation, Collins said.
