Memorial benefit for murdered Waccamaw High graduate

A memorial benefit to honor Antonio Grate will be held Saturday, Nov.. 14 through Monday, Nov. 16.

On Saturday, there will be a basketball event beginning at 7 p.m. at Waccamaw High School gymnasium.

The admission fee is $5 per adult, $3 per child, and children 2 and under are free.

There will be raffle tickets, T-shirts, and CD's sold.

A DJ will be present with radio version music and during half-time there will be raffle giveaways.

Security will be enforced for the entire event.

On Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 4 p.m. there will be a memorial service following a Gospel Explosion, all in Waccamaw High School auditorium.

The admission fee is $5 per adult, $3 per child, and children 2 and under are free.

There will be raffle tickets sold, T-shirts, and CD's.

No food or drink will be allowed in the auditorium during this event.

However, these items will be sold to be taken outside in the lobby area of the building.

Security also will be enforced for this event.

Monday, November 16, 2009 beginning at 2 p.m. will be the 21st birthday celebration fish fry.

This is the date of Grate's actual birthday. He would have been 21.

This event is free! However each person that plans to attend is asked to bring any quantity of white helium balloons to be released after "Happy Birthday" has been sung.
