Georgetown defense shuts down Loris

Georgetown gave up one touchdown on special teams and one touchdown on a turnover in a 24-14 win over Loris last week.
The Lions took the opening kickoff back 90 yards for a touchdown and a quick 7-0 lead.
The Bulldogs then scored 24 unanswered points.
Julian Lunsford tied the game at 7-7 with 10-yard touchdown run and Josh Huneault extended the lead to 10-7 with a 27-yard field goal in the first quarter.
Juwan Gibbs (1 yard) and Caleb Hughes (7 yards) added two touchdowns in the second quarter for the 24-7.
Loris cut the lead to 24-14 in the third quarter with a 13-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.
Michael Billings led the Bulldogs' offense with 96 yards rushing. Lunsford had 81 yards and Hughes had 29.
Hughes was 19-for-28 passing for 133 yards. A.J. Walker was the leading receiver with 54 yards. Cannon Ballard had 28 yards, Chris Gamble had 26, and Tarik Tucker had 18.
Jordan Ward led the Georgetown defense with 11 tackles. Dominique Wigfall had seven tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one-and-a-half sacks; Anthony Blair had five tackles and one-and-a-half sacks; Justin Waring had five tackles, an interception and one forced fumble; Dae'Quan Gibson had a fumble recovery; Keith Collins had an interception; and Marquez Drayton had a forced fumble.
Georgetown hosts St. James on Friday night.
At the start of region play, Socastee and Myrtle Beach are 5-0, North Myrtle Beach is 4-1, Georgetown is 3-2, Wilson is 2-3, and St. James is 1-4.

The Bulldogs have scored nearly half of their points - 59 - in the second quarter.

Lunsford is the leading rusher for Georgetown with 532 yards and four touchdowns. He's averaging 4.3 yards per carry.
Billings has 180 yards and one touchdown; Hughes has 135 yards and three touchdowns; and Ward has 62 yards and one touchdown.
Hughes is 58-for-109 passing for 607 yards. He's thrown five touchdowns and two interceptions.
Walker is the leading receiver 25 catches for 257 yards and three touchdowns. Tucker has 95 yards, Gibson has 87 yards and one touchdown, Gamble has 51 yards, Zaquan Collins has 37, Ballard has 28 yards, Billings has 27 yards and one touchdown, and Lunsford has 25 yards.
Ward is leading the Georgetown defense with 47 tackles and half a sack. Cody Floyd has 38 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and a blocked kick; Blair has 32 tackles and three-and-a-half sacks; Gibbs has 23 tackles and one sack; Waring has 23 tackles, one interception, one forced fumble and two blocked kicks; Drayton has 22 tackles and one forced fumble; Wigfall has 21 tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery; and Leon Ford had 20 tackles and one sack.
