Fire Destroys Hemingway Business

Five fire stations responded to a fire in Hemingway that left the 41/51 Truck Center in shambles. On April 15, at approximately 2:20 a.m., firefighters from Williamsburg County, Hemingway, Stuckey, Muddy Creek and Central were dispatched to the address, where they faced flames coming from the building.

It took the team of approximately 25 firefighters over two hours to bring the fire under control as oil stored on the premises may have had a contributing factor in the rapid spread of the fire throughout the building.

The Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office and SLED are presently conducting separate investigations.

Dear Readers: I thank the reader who would like for me to come back to The News. Just for the record to be clear- I have no more information on what occured at the truck stop than you the readers. On a side note, I am personal friends with the family and owners of the truck stop- even if I was at the paper I would have passed the story on to someone in the news room. Kind Regards and thank you for still remembering me Brad Richardson City of Johnsonville
