The annual Father/Daughter Dance will be held this Saturday, Feb. 6th from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Family Center Gym at Georgetown Presbyterian Church. Dads, please plan to attend this special event.
Last year was a wonderful time. The fellowship hall was transformed into a lovely banquet hall.
There was music, balloons, lights, fancy food and, of course, lots of dancing. It was heartwarming to see Dads dancing with their daughters. And dads, this is the perfect opportunity for you to give some life lessons to your daughters. Teach them what to expect from men (boys).
They need to know that doors can be opened, chairs pulled out to be seated, maybe even corsages can be worn. It’s a time for them to experience what a “date” can be like. Yes, you think it’s far away, but before you realize it, there will be dating involved. So why not show them what it should be, not what the television promotes. Show them what it means to be treated like a lady, or princess!
Also, if anyone can escort a young lady in this age group who may not have a dad for whatever reason, please contact Georgetown Presbyterian Church 546-5826 ext. 123.
There is a need, and we don’t want any of the young ladies to miss the dance.
