A Dunbar community man was arrested on drug charges after an investigation by the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Lt. Kelvin Waites, Rodriquez Hakeem Gamble of 177 Kasha Dr. was arrested early Saturday after officers found him to be in possession of illegal drugs.
Deputies were sent to Dunbar Park after receiving reports that there was a man sleeping in a car at that location.
They approached the car and saw 18-year-old Gamble inside with “what they believed to be an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle,” Waites said.
As he was being patted down, officers reportedly found an off-white rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine, and a green leaf-like substance believed to be marijuana in Gamble’s pocket.
He was arrested without incident and charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine within a half-mile mile of a park and simple possession of marijuana.
