"We won but just didn't play well," Carvers Bay coach Jeff Mezzatesta said as he talked about the Bears' win over Hannah-Pamplico on Tuesday night.

The final score was Carvers Bay 58, Hannah-Pamplico 46.

Angelo Brown, 11 points, Tyrone Brown, 9 points, Da'Shaun Aiken, 4 points, Tevin Richard, 6 points, Carlton Geathers was the leader with 19 points, and Teondre Bromell had 9 points.

Mezzatesta said Angelo Brown had 4 rebounds and 2 steals, and was 6 for 8 from the free-throw line.

Teondre Bromell had 3 assists and 3 steals, and Carlton Geathers had 4 assists, 11 rebounds, 3 steals and was 5 for 9 on free throws.

Alton Nesbitt had no points, the coach said, but did make 6 rebounds.

Da'Shaun Aiken had 2 assists, and Tyrone Brown had 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

Rayshod Pittman had 3 steals, Tevin Richard 4 rebounds, and Chris Scott had 3 rebounds.

'Real sloppy'

As for the game itself, Mezzatesta said he was disappointed that this was the first game with the whole team together but the result wasn't as it should have been.

"We played real sloppy, but we got the job done," he said.

"We had 22 turnovers. We have to work on timing."

"We balanced that out with 15 steals as a team," he added.

"It was just a good thing the defense showed up in the second half."

At half-time, Carvers Bay was down 34 to 18.

In the third quarter the Bears scored 22 points, and in the final period they got another 18 points.

"Forty of the 58 points were in the second half," Mezzatesta said.
