"We were up in the beginning of the third quarter," coach Dennis Britton said of his Carvers Bay girls.

"After our starting center -- who had 18 rebounds -- fouled out, we went downhill from there."

Ebony Kearson had 8 points to go along with her rebounds, both career highs. "It was a very strong game for her."

She had 11 defensive rebounds, 7 offensive, 5 block shots and 4 steals.

Kearson was also the only player who fouled out, getting personal fouls and a technical foul.

As a team, Carvers Bay had 22 personal fouls to 19 for the Creek Bridge Lady Warriors.

Other scorers for Carvers Bay were Jasmine Eddy 6; Jia Green 9; Jasmine Cobb 2; and Shantelle Linen 2.

For Creek Bridge, scorers were D. Edwards 11; F. Myers 5; J. Legette 12; S. Smalls 6; and B. Cobb 4, all of Cobb's from the free throw line.

"Their conference record in region play is 5 wins, 6 losses," Britton said.

The Lady Bears are 1-7 in the region and 3-12 overall.

Carvers Bay led 6-5 in the first period and 14-9 in the second, for a half-time score of 20-14.

After the break Creek Bridge poured it on, leading 18-6 in the third period, and 11-8 in the fourth. The final was Creek Bridge 38, Carvers Bay 34.

The Bears will face Johnsonville Friday. Britton said they are the number one seed in AA, and undefeated in the region, with a 7-0 record, not county Tuesday's game.
