Carvers Bay beats Andrews

Carvers Bay kept Andrews winless with a 21-3 win on Friday night.
Andrews' Jose Santos missed a 31-yard field goal in the first quarter and then made a 34-yarder in the second to give the Yellow Jackets a 3-0 lead.
"We came out prepared. We moved the ball down the field. We executed plays," Andrews coach Steve Blanchard said. "We just didn't put it in the end zone early."
"We came out flat and we finally decided to start picking it up," said Carvers Bay coach Nate Thompson. "We've got to do a better job of coming out of the gate. We've got to get ourselves to come out and play early."
After Da'Shaun Aiken scored on a 3-yard run to give Carvers Bay a 6-3 lead, Oneil Johnson scooped up an Andrews fumble and ran it in from 38 yards out to extend the Bears' lead to 13-3. Aiken finished up the scoring with a 33-yard touchdown pass to Shayton Durrand.
"The kids love it for bragging right, but for us it's just a game," Thompson said. "[County teams] are always good teams to play and it's a great rivalry."
"It's just a win," Aiken said. "We like the bragging rights, but this game is over and now it's on the next week."
Devin Cuttino was the leading rusher for Carvers Bay with 60 yards. Isreal Davis had 39 yards, and Aiken had 19.
Aiken completed three passes for 69 yards. Durrand had 33 yards, Desmond Sumpter had 25, and Davis had 11.
Shaquan Durrand led the Andrews' defense with seven tackles, one interception and one forced fumble. Stefan Hannah had eight tackles; Davin Young had six tackles, one interception and one forced fumble; and Naquez Pringle had six tackles.
Jaleel Filmore was the leading rusher for Andrews with 91 yards. Ethan Wright added 56 yards.
Wright completed two passes for 32 yards. He also had a fumble and threw an interception.
Monte McCrea was the leading receiver with one catch for 37 yards.
McCrea led the Yellow Jackets defense with seven tackles. Victor Mention and Antonio McCutchen had four tackles each. McCutchen had an interception and Johnel Grant recovered a fumble.
"It is still inconsistent and until it gets consistent, we will keep getting the same results," Blanchard said.
Carvers Bay (2-1) hosts Georgetown and Andrews (0-3) hosts C.E. Murray on Friday night.
In other action
Georgetown High got two touchdowns in the second quarter and held off a late rally by James Island to win 14-8 last week.
After Michael Billings recovered a Trojans' fumble, the Bulldogs got on the board when Caleb Hughes hit A.J. Walker with a nine-yard touchdown pass.
Georgetown extended its lead about 3 minutes later when Julian Lunsford ran it in from 24 yards out.
The game remained 14-0 until James Island scored with 3:12 left in the game.
Georgetown took the ensuing kickoff and ran out the clock.
Lunsford led the Bulldogs offense with 143 rushing yards. Hughes had 29 yards and Billings had 21.
Hughes completed five passes for 42 yards. Walker was the leading receiver with 32 yards.
Cody Floyd led the Georgetown defense with 14 tackles. Jordan Ward had 12 tackles, Juwan Gibbs had eight, Billings and Anthony Blair had seven each, and Keith Collins and Leon Ford had six each. Ward, Gibbs, Blair and Dominique Wigfall all had sacks.
James Island dominated time of possession - 27:00 to 20:34 - but both teams ran 56 plays.
The Bulldogs had 235 yards of offense to the Trojans' 165 yards. Each team ran the ball 41 times and attempted 15 passes.
Georgetown (2-1) travels to Carvers Bay on Friday night.
