CELEBRATING THANKSGIVING

Students in DeAnne Shelley’s kindergarten class at Kensington Elementary School used modern snacks and a video presentation to learn more about the history of Thanksgiving. While dressed in paper Indian head gear, the students used Bugle snacks, marshmallows and Fruity Pebbles cereal to make small cornucopias. Pictured are students Ashley Macedo, Ryleigh Holladay and Zaria Gilliyard. While the students said they enjoyed making the craft — and eating them — they looked forward to the break from school. Classes will resume Monday.
