Bulldogs keep Yellow Jackets winless
Andrews High's boys lost 72-50 to Georgetown last week to remain winless.
The Bulldogs led 18-10 at the end of the first half, 38-18 at halftime, and 56-28 at the end of the third quarter. Andrews outscored Georgetown 22-16 in the fourth quarter but the rally fell short.
Stephon Cuttino led Georgetown with 18 points and three rebounds. Charlie McGirt had 14 points and 13 rebounds; Eddie Anderson had 12 points; Anthony Blair had seven points and nine rebounds; A.J. Walker had five assists, five rebounds and three steals; Dae'Quan Gibson had three rebounds and three steals; and Olajuwon Doiley had six points.
Monte McCrea led Andrews with 13 points, 16 rebounds and three steals. Jackie Wilson had 12 points and four steals; Travis Collins had 10 points and eight rebounds; Jowan Grant had five points, three assists, three rebounds and three steals; William Lewis had five steals; and Demond Lawrence had four rebounds.
Andrews was coming off a 64-34 loss to St. James.
McCrea led the Yellow Jackets with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Collins had five points and three rebounds; Grant had five points; and Wilson had seven rebounds.
Andrews lost 68-62 to C.E. Murray on Dec. 7.
Lawrence led the Yellow Jackets with 19 points. McCrea had 15 points and 12 rebounds; Collins had 10 points, nine rebounds and four assists; Johnel Grant had six points and eight rebounds; and Jonathan Grant had six points.
Andrews fell to Carvers Bay at home 60-58 on Dec. 4.
Jowan Grant led the Yellow Jackets with 12 points and four rebounds. Collins had 10 points and nine rebounds; Wilson had nine points, nine rebounds and three steals; McCrea had nine points and seven rebounds; Lawrence had nine points; and Johnel Grant had seven points and four rebounds.
Andrews also lost at Carvers Bay 77-53.
McCrea led the Yellow Jackets 15 points and 17 rebounds. Johnel Grant had 11 points and six rebounds; Wilson had 10 points, four rebounds and five steals; Lawrence had seven points and three steals; Collins had five rebounds; and Jonathan Grant had five steals.
Andrews' girls team was dominated 75-28 by Georgetown on Friday night.
Latesja Deas led the Yellow Jackets with seven points. Shemeika McCray had six points and four steals; Brittany McKnight had six points; Zanayvia Davis had seven rebounds; and LaRonda Carter had five rebounds.
Carvers Bay
The Bears fell 65-61 to Johnsonville on Friday.
The Flashes took a 12-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended it to 33-24 at halftime.
Carvers Bay outscored Johnsonville 37-32 in the second half but couldn't complete the comeback.
Da'Shaun Aiken led the Bears with 15 points, five rebounds and six steals. Shaquan Durand had 10 points; Shayton Durand had nine points and six rebounds; Darius Williams had six points and six rebounds; Rayshad Dorsey had five points and five rebounds; Walter Linnen had four points and four rebounds; Stefan Hannah had four points and five rebounds; and Chris Carter had five steals.
The Lady Bears held off a furious second-half rally to beat the Lady Flashes 69-61.
Carvers Bay jumped out to a 16-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended it to 32-19 at halftime.
Johnsonville dominated the third quarter to take a 45-40 lead, but Carvers Bay used a 13-point advantage in the fourth to come from behind and win the game.
Desaree Green led Carvers Bay with 22 points, 23 rebounds and four steals. Zaria Blain had 18 points and four rebounds; LaQuasha Coles had 13 points; Jasmine Cobb had 10 points; Anatashia Bromell had 11 rebounds; and Jasmine Eaddy had five rebounds.
Waccamaw
The boys and girls both lost to Socastee on Friday.
The Braves led 16-9 at the end of the first quarter, and held on to the 7-point lead at the half. After extending the lead to 42-30 at the end of the third quarter, Socastee held off Waccamaw in the fourth for the victory.
Rob Ferraro led Waccamaw with 13 points. Adonis Williams had 10 points, Stefon Funnye had eight and Noah Gulley had six.
The Lady Braves dominated the Lady Warriors 61-7.
