Bears win, Yellow Jackets and Warriors lose

Carvers Bay scored three passing touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns and one on a punt return to dominate C.E. Murray 47-0 last week.

Da'Shawn Aiken hit twin 25-yard touchdown passes to Shayton Durand and Shaquan Durand in the first quarter to put the Bears up 12-0.

After Aiken hit Desmond Sumpter from 12 yards out in the second quarter, Israel Davis had a 30-yard touchdown run to extend Carver Bay's lead to 34-0 at halftime.

Devin Cuttino had a 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and Daquan Wilson added a 40-yard punt return to wrap up the scoring in the fourth quarter.

Aiken was 6-for-12 passing for 94 yards. Sumpter was the leading receiver with 27 yards.

Cuttino was the leading rusher with 59 yards. Davis had 30 and Chris Carter had 12.

Carvers Bay (5-1) travels to Scott's Branch (0-6) on Friday.

Andrews came back from 12-point first half deficit, but couldn't overcome a 11-point fourth quarter deficit in a 25-21 loss to Lee Central last week.

The Stallions got touchdowns runs of 75 yards and two yards early in the first and second quarters to take a 12-0 lead.

Andrews then scored two touchdowns in the last 5:33 of the second quarter to take a 14-12 lead into the half. Ethan Wright connected with Maleek Johnson on a 40-yard score and Colton Fulton returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown.

After a scoreless third quarter, Lee Central put up 13 points in two minutes to regain the lead at 25-14.

Wright second touchdown pass to Johnson with 51.1 seconds left in the game cut the lead to 25-21, but Andrews couldn't complete the comeback.

Wright was 9-for-21 passing for 164 yards. Monte McCrea was the leading receiver with 67 yards. Johnson had 66 yards and Victor Mention had 25.

Jaleel Filmore was the leading rusher for Andrews with 60 yards.

Fulton led the Yellow Jackets defense with eight tackles, four assists and one sack. Johnel Grant had eight tackles and three assists; Kalen Hudson had five tackles and five assists; McCrea had four tackles and two assists; and Filmore, Quandre Green, Patrick Ward, Jordan Cantley and Toryan Washington had three tackles and three assists each.

Andrews (1-5) hosts Kingstree (1-5) on Friday night.

Waccamaw fell 40-8 to Mullins last week.

Jalen Simmons scored the only touchdown and was the leading for the Warriors with 113 yards. Rashawn Mitchell had 28 yards and Harley Temlin had 27.

Jack Monroe was 5-for-8 passing for 30 yards. Daniel Whitlock had 17 yards and Rob Ferraro had 13.

Waccamaw (3-3) hosts Loris (4-1) on Friday night.
