Two Georgetown County residents have been killed in separate traffic accidents that happened outside the county within the past week.

Funeral services were held Monday for 26-year-old Michelle Parsons who was killed Thursday night in an accident in Williamsburg County.

Parsons was in a 2004 GMC when, for an unknown reason, she ran off of Highway 527 about 17 miles east of Kingstree, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol. She tried to regain control but overcorrected and ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

She is survived by her husband, Christopher Parsons, and four sons.

The other accident happened in Florida Friday and claimed the life of 27-year-old Cameron Elizabeth James. She was the daughter of Wesley Grainger of Conway and Sonya Renee James of Murrells Inlet.
