Erin Spatz: Time to clean out the purse

Well, I couldn’t take it anymore. It was beyond reason and when others started to notice, I was left with no choice. I had to clean out my purse.

I have a gorgeous purse on the outside, but on the inside it’s the “mom” purse. I had, or have recently had the following in my purse:

Band aids (which good moms have, sometimes I am good and sometimes I am not)

Tweezers

Two pennies stuck together with an old fruit snack

Cold medicine

Cough drops

Gum (some new and some that’s been chewed)

Phone charger, but not for my phone

One flip flop (in case I meet someone who needs one flip flop, I guess?)

Three peanut butter crackers, not together and not in their package

Six - seven receipts to various locations from various years

Either a super old Tic Tac or Tylenol

Five tubes of lip gloss, chap-stick or lipstick

At least 10 pens in 10 different colors

Mini notebook

Several bottles of nail polish

Sticky notes

Now, your guess is as good as mine as to why I am carting all that around. And why, when I leave the house am I certain I am forgetting something? I suppose the reason I can’t find anything in there has to do with the amount of stuff that’s in there.

What’s worse is, I don’t think my current hand bag is big enough.

Am I looking for a bag big enough to carry Chandler around in? She’d probably happily sit in it so she wouldn’t have to walk!

But, before you judge the contents of my bag, check yours.

It’s probably no better than mine, although if I become stranded on an island I will have that one flip flop and those crackers to carry me through until I am rescued. I wonder if there is a flotation device in there?
