FUNERAL SERVICES

Leland “L.C.” Goings

Leland C. “L.C.” Goings, 66, husband of Ara Marie Hammett Goings, Passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at his home.

Born on December 24, 1945, in Hemingway, he was a son of the late Joseph Madrick Goings and the late Eva Smalls Goings.

Mr. Goings attended Calvary Free Will Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Goings Small engine.

He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, watching the Gamecocks play and most of all being with his loving family.

Mr. Goings was the president of the “Goings Small Engine Coffee Club” and will be missed by all who loved him.

Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; two children, Kathy Goings Cribbs (Shane) of Mullins, Joseph L. Goings (Martha) of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Maegan Goings and David Leland Goings, both of Georgetown and Keeton Cribbs of Mullins; one great grandchild, Justice Allen Monroe of Georgetown; four sisters, Sue Turner (David) of Andrews, Agnes McCaw (Tim) of Suffolk, Va., Jennifer Harrelson (Donnie) of Georgetown and Doris Poston (Mickey) of Georgetown; one brother, Linwood Goings (Marcia) of Georgetown; a special niece, Sharon Goings Mills (Wayne); a special family member, Benjamin “Santee” Woodberry (Marie) of Georgetown; and number of very special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Goings Sanders and Linda Goings Elliott; four brothers, Joe Goings, Sam Goings, Earl Goings and John Goings

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Teddy Rabon and Rev. James Arthur McElveen officiating.

Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, 1663 N. Fraser St., Georgetown, SC; Hospice Care of South Carolina, 407 Church St. Suite C, Georgetown, SC 29440; or Union United Methodist Church, 8209 Rose Hill Rd., Georgetown, SC 29440.
