FUNERAL SERVICES
Betty Howard
Betty Lou Howard, 74, widow of Franklin Delano Howard Sr., died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Graham Funeral Home.
She was born January 19, 1936 in Society Hall, the daughter of the late Homer Gainey.
Mrs. Howard was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and attending church at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Franklin D. (Robin) Howard Jr. and James Allen Howard, both of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Rachel McNeill, Whitney Howard, Delano Howard III; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband.
The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home.

Ruth Starnes
Ruth Benn Starnes of Pawleys Island died Monday, March 1, 2010, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet.
Mrs. Starnes was born in Maysville, Ky., a daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Robert Lee Benn and Mary Ruth Turner Benn.
She attended Queens College in Charlotte, N. C. and graduated from Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn.
Mrs. Starnes was an active member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women of the Church and a former church Sunday School Teacher.
Mrs. Starnes was predeceased by five sisters and a brother.
Surviving are: her husband, J. Wesley Starnes of Pawleys Island; five nieces, Ruth Oliver Bell (Cobb) of Georgetown, Margaret Rose Macdonald of Williamsburg, Va., Dr. Martha Macdonald of Rock Hill, Juliana Ott of Lexington, and Sarah Swinn (Craig) of Gettysburg, Pa.; three nephews, Rev. Robert Benn Vincent (Sandy) of Alexandra, La., Dr. Roderick Macdonald (Helen) of Columbia, and Thomas B. Bobo (Terry) of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a number of great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be eleven o’clock Thursday morning, March 4, 2010, at Georgetown Presbyterian Church followed by a reception in the Church fellowship hall.
Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen H. Wilkins, the Rev. Robert Benn Vincent, and the Rev. Dr. William H. Puckett, Jr.
Burial will follow at two o’clock in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens in Georgetown.
