FUNERAL SERVICES
Lillie Brown
Lillie Casselman Brown, 90, of Andrews died Thursday, January 21, 2010, at her residence.
Funeral services will be on Monday morning, January 25, 2010, at ten o’clock at Piney Forest Baptist Church.
Officiating will be the Rev. Ben Walker. Burial will follow in Piney Forest Cemetery.

James Evans Sr.
James Carlisle “JC” Evans, Sr., 81, the beloved husband of the late Jeanette Cox Evans of Georgetown and the late Florence Swails Howard-Evans, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday afternoon, January 20, 2010, at the Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Mr. Evans was born a son of Clyde D. Evans and Alma Welch Evans on March 19, 1928, in Olanta, SC.
He was a graduate of Oak Grove School; was retired maintenance employee of Sampit Lumber Mill and a retired security officer of Georgetown Memorial Hospital; and was a member of the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He leaves behind two sons, James C. “Jimmy” Evans, Jr., and Donald A. Evans; four step-children, Michael Howard, Vona Graham, Linda Moore, and Angela Gunter; the “apple of his eyes” – his granddaughters, Angie (Jay) Bruinooge and Kristina Evans; and his great grandchildren, Evan, Michael, Junior, and Brandon; and many loved step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Diane Evans and Mamie Cunningham.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wives; and a grandchild, Michael H. Elliott.
Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday morning, January 23, 2010, at the Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church with interment in the Harmony Ceremony directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Friday evening, January 22, 2010, in the Andrews Chapel.

Arlena Palmer
Funeral services for the late Arlena Palmer will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Hopewell AME Church in Hemingway, SC.
Rev. Dr. Kylon Middleton, pastor will conduct the religious services.
Internment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Palmer entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 15, 2010 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in FLorence after an illness.
She was born in Georgetown County, a daughter of the late Simon and Annie Kearson Patterson.
She was educated in the public schools of Georgetown County.
Mrs. Palmer was a member of Hopewell AME Church at an early age.
She was employed as a teacher at the Old Hopewell School in Georgetown County.
She was joined in holy wedlock to the late Lawrence “Boy” Palmer and they were blessed with two sons.
Loving memories will be cherished by two sons, Otis (Minnie) Cooper of Hemingway and Alfonza (Marie) Palmer of Georgetown; 12 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Marie Parker
Marie A. Parker, 59, of Georgetown died on January 17, 2010 at Tidelands Hospice House.
Mrs. Parker was born on December 29, 1950 in Georgetown, SC, a daughter of Willie Mae Giles and Irving Chisom.
She graduated from Howard High School in 1969 and was employed with Heiley-Myers Co. for over 20 years, and later Equity One-American General.
Funeral services for Mrs. Parker will be held 1 pm Friday, January 22, 2010 at Greater St. Stephen A.M.E. Church with burial following at Morning Glory Cemetery under the direction of Wilds Funeral Home, LLC. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 6-8pm at the Wilds Courtyard Chapel.
She is survived by her son: Derrick A. Parker of Spartanburg, SC; mother: Willie Mae Giles of Newark, NJ; step-mother: Charleslena Chisom of Georgetown, SC; brother: Rodney Giles of Newport, VA; step-granddaughter: Katera Kerns-Moore; aunts and uncle: Aletia Govan of East Orange, NJ, Bernice Garner and James Giles both of Georgetown, SC.
