FUNERAL SERVICES
Wilbur Brandon
Wilbur M. Brandon, 70, the beloved husband of Peggy D. Brandon of Georgetown, after a long illness valiantly departed this mortal body to be in the present with his Lord, Wednesday afternoon, December 28, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. Brandon was born the son of Walter Matthew Brandon and Essie Maude Kennedy Brandon on July 16, 1941 in Georgetown.
He was a 1960 graduate of Andrews High School and was a retired control room operator for the Georgetown Mill of International Paper Company.
Wilbur and Peggy were married on November 14, 1962 and celebrated 49 years together. Their family was blessed with one son and his wife loved as a daughter, Matt and Charlotte Brandon; four grandchildren, Kyle Brandon, Aaron Ethridge, Madison Ethridge, and Ashlyn Ethridge.
Also surviving are three brothers, James Brandon, Johnny (Kay) Brandon, and Chris (Annette) Brandon; two sisters, Elizabeth (Jim) Hawkins and Gloria (John) Brandon-Kratz; special friends, Chip and Beverly Balthis; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Walter Brandon.
A Home Going Celebration was at graveside at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning, December 31, 2011, in the Lambert Cemetery, directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Officiating was the Rev. Chris Browder and the Rev. Harris Jordan.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, December 30, 2011 at the Andrews Chapel.
McKenzie Funeral Home was honored to serve the Brandon family.

Mary Smith
Mary Bryan Boyd Smith of Andrews died Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown.
Mrs. Smith was born on November 24, 1911 at her home in White Oak, N.C. to William Sanders Bryan and Gertie Lee Haire Bryan. She celebrated her 100th birthday this year.
Mrs. Smith married the late John Weldon Boyd on December 23, 1926 and the late Richard Leon Smith on December 23, 1961.
She retired from the Williamsburg County school system and was a member of Spring Gulley Baptist Church, where she served as a mission leader, Sunday school teacher and pianist.
Mrs. Smith was always ready to serve the Lord whenever she was needed.
Surviving are two sons, John Weldon Boyd, Jr. (Hattie Mae) and Charles Edwin Boyd (Vernon); a step-daughter, Genelle Smith Abrams; a brother, Danny Bryan; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, December 31, 2011, at Spring Gulley Baptist Church.
Officiating was the Rev. Randy Zurcher, the Rev. Craig Pipkin, and the Rev. Talmidge Infinger.
Burial followed in Spring Gulley Baptist Churchyard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: Spring Gulley Baptist Church, 2107 U.S. Hwy. 521, Andrews, SC 29510.
