FUNERAL SERVICES

Gloria Blue-Harvey

Gloria Rene Blue-Harvey, 51, of Knoxville, Tennessee, departed this life on Monday, February 22, 2010.

Graveside services will be held 12 noon on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Bethel Cemetery in the Kent Community of Andrews, SC with Rev. Dr. Joseph Jones, officiating, under the direction of McKnight-Fraser Funeral Homes.

Mrs. Blue-Harvey was born November 22, 1959 in New York and was raised in Andrews, SC by her grandparents, she attended high school in Georgetown County and South Carolina State College.

Survivors are her husband, Willie Harvey, Jr., Knoxville, Tennessee; two children, Brandon Berry, Carlsbad, New Mexico and Lynae Berry of Macon, GA; one step-son, Devin Harvey; and three sisters, Andrea Parlor-Boyce, Artise Gill and Pam Smith.

Salome Brown

Salome Lee Lambert Brown, 60, of Georgetown, beloved wife of James R. “Ralph” Brown, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday afternoon, February 24, 2010 at the MUSC, Charleston.

Mrs. Brown was born the daughter of Fate Tyson Lambert and Lessie Lee Lambert on June 13, 1949 in Georgetown county.  She was a member of the Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The epigamy of a “southern mom:” modesty-humble, and caring-forgiving.  Her heart was loving-giving to her family and friends, her pets, and especially her beloved grandchildren.

Salome and Ralph were married on June 23, 1967 and celebrated 42 years together. From their blessed union survive: three children, Johnny Ralph (Lynn) Brown, William Steve (Johemma) Brown, and Sharon Lee Brown; six grandchildren, Lliam, Lilly, Tiffany, Travis, Tyler, and Tabatha. Also surviving are: loved-as-a-daughter, Nicole Casselman; two brothers, Danny (Marie) Lambert and Rev. Elmer (Sandra) Lambert; and five sisters, Ellen (Wallace) Powell, Ruthell (Edward) Gaskins, Mary Adell (David) Bratcher, Delores (Dalton) McCutcheon, and Sharon Lavell Freeman.

She was predeceased by:  her parents; and a brother, Eugene Lambert.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church with interment in the Halfway Creek Cemetery directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6-9, Friday evening, February 26, 2010 in the sanctuary of the Saints Delight PH Church.

McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Lambert-Brown family.

Laura Ferrante

Laura Ferrante, 51, of the Browns Ferry Community of Georgetown, SC, died on Monday, February 22, 2010 in Georgetown, SC.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ferrante will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2010 at Chester Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Lanes Creek Community, Georgetown.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Ferrante was born on December 16, 1958 in Georgetown, SC to Curtis Gamble, Sr. and Evelyn Prior.

She was the owner of Mop & Shine Cleaning Service.

She attended Georgetown County and Williamsburg County Schools and Williamsburg Technical College.

She was also a member of Chester Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Missionary Society, Kitchen Committee, Pastor’s Aid Board and worked as the church custodian.

She is survived by her children: Tory Gibson of Little River, SC, Patrice White of Atlanta, GA and Kimyetta White of Georgetown, SC; her parents: Curtis Gamble of Georgetown, SC and Evelyn Prior of Rochester, NY; her brothers: Wesley Reed of Charlotte, NC, Glen White of Olanten, TX, Terry Prior of Georgetown, SC and Cornell Gamble of Andrews, SC, Curtis McDonald of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren.

Funeral service arrangements are entrusted and directed by Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.

Donald Jacks

Donald Lee Jacks of Andrews passed away of natural causes in Georgetown Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 23, 2010.

Mr. Jacks was born in Calera, Ala. on January 6, 1937.

He was the only child of the late Alma Dean Lee and Malcolm Wesley Jacks.

Don attended Alabama Teachers College and received his masters in chemistry from The University of Calif., Berkeley. He was employed by the State of Alabama EPA, by Masonic Corporation in North Carolina, and most recently by Elf Attached North America.

He worked primarily out of the company’s Philadelphia office, traveling all over the world helping install chemical coatings systems in glass and ceramic factories.

He is survived by two sons, Samuel Paul Jacks of Greensboro, N.C. and Lucas Wesley Jacks of Carob, N.C.

No service will be held at the specific request of the deceased.

Lucille Smith

Lucille Smith, 69, of the North Santee Community, Georgetown, SC, died on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in Georgetown, SC.

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Burial will follow at St. Mark Baptist Church Cemetery in Gadsden, SC.

Mrs. Smith was born April 3, 1940 in Gadsden, SC to Sidney King and Sally Garrick King.

She attended William Penn High School in Philadelphia, PA.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, John H. Smith of Georgetown, SC; her sons, Derrick Smith, Sr. and John H. Smith, Jr. of Georgetown, SC; her daughters, Barbara Smith of Georgetown, SC, Sharmaine Smith Brown of Lithonia, GA, Sharlene Smith of Gastonia, NC; her son-in-law, John Brown of Lithonia, GA; sisters, Mary Thomas and Margaret Collins of Philadelphia, PA.

Family visitation will be held 6 p.m. on Sunday evening, February 28, 2010 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.

Funeral service arrangements are entrusted and directed by Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.

Franklin Tucker Jr.

Franklin Tucker Jr., 57, of 202 Raymond Street, Andrews, SC, departed this life Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital, Georgetown, SC.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at W. J. McKnight & Son Chapel in Andrews with Rev. Mack Lewis, officiating.

Burial follows in Morning Glory Cemetery, under the direction of McKnight-Fraser Funeral Homes.

Mr. Tucker son of the late Frank Tucker, Sr. and Rosena Eaddy Tucker was born October 21, 1952 in Georgetown, SC, her attended Georgetown and Horry County Public Schools.

Survivors are, two daughters, Letha Tucker and Cathy Tucker of Conway, SC; six grandchildren, four sisters, Betty Baker, Rosa Lee Holmes, Eveat Tucker all of Georgetown, SC and Chris A. Geathers of Myrtle Beach, SC; two brothers, Laverne Tucker of Conway, SC and James Earl Tucker of Georgetown, SC.

 

Ella Wragg

Ella Wragg, 74, of the North Santee Community of Georgetown, SC, died on Monday, February 22, 2010 in Georgetown, SC.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wragg will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010  at First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Georgetown.

Burial will follow in Morning Glory Cemetery.

Mrs. Wragg was born on March 19, 1935 to Eddie Campbell and Mrs. Janie Green Campbell. She attended Georgetown County Public Schools.

Mrs. Wragg was a homemaker and a member of First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she sang on the Gospel Choir and was a member of the Frank B. Vereen New Generation Youth Group.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Wragg of Georgetown, SC; her sister, Mrs. Louella Gibson of Georgetown, SC and her brother, Edward Campbell of Conway, SC; her step-children: Earl Wragg, Sr. and Herlena Marsh both of Georgetown, SC; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held 6 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.
