FUNERAL SERVICES

Janie Johnson                                      

Janie Lynn McElveen Johnson, 40, of Georgetown passed away Sunday Aug. 22, 2010 in a Charleston hospital.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Florence, SC, a daughter of the late Rembert L. and Betty Drayton McElveen. She was a mother and a homemaker.

Surviving are one son, Christian I. Johnson of Georgetown; one sister, Lori Carasea of Georgetown,  SC; a number of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and close friends

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Aug. 28, 2010 in the High Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, near Lake City,  SC, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, SC.                                         

 

Adrial McCutcheon-McCrea

Adrial Louise Browder McCutcheon-McCrea, 76, a beloved mother and the wife of Harley Armstrong McCrea of Andrews, went home to be with the Lord and to join her loved ones on August 24, 2010, at Tidelands Community Hospice House.

Mrs. McCutcheon-McCrea born a daughter of Thomas Whaley Browder and Elizabeth Browder on June 17, 1934 in Andrews, SC.

She was a retired production operator for Baxters Labatory for 27+ years. She was a member of the Piney Forest Baptist Church.

She was the epitome of a “Southern mom” devoted to her husband, caring for her family, and serving her church and friends.    

After the death of her first husband and the father of her children, Thomas Franklin McCutcheon, Adrial and Harley were married March 30, 1978 and celebrated 32 years together.

She was blessed three children: Charles Franklin McCutcheon, and Elizabeth Elaine (Johnny) Roberts, and Thomas Carroll McCutcheon who passed in August 1993; and two step-children, Brenda M. Powell and Tim McCrea; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was the first born of nine children leaving behind one brother, Thomas (Virginia) Browder, and five sisters, Edith (Dargan) Burrows, Dottie B. Callaham,

Dora B. Sowell, Mildred (Balford) Cribb, and Vera B. Knabb.

She was predeceased by her parents; first husband; a son; a grandchild, Candice McCutcheon; and two brothers, Paul W. Browder and Wendell Ard.

Homegoing Celebration Service will be 10 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2010 in the Piney Forest Baptist Church with interment in the Piney Forest cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.  

Mrs. McCrea will lie-in-state with a visitation beginning at 5 PM, Thursday, August 26, 2010 at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Johnny Roberts, 505 Piney Forest Rd., Andrews.
