Willia McCutchen

Willia “Bongie” Altman McCutchen, 82, of Johnsonville, a beloved mother and the widow of Thomas C. McCutchen, Sr., went home to be with the Lord and join her loved ones on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Carolina Hospital System, Florence.

Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2010 in the Johnsonville United Methodist Church with interment in the Eaddy- Ford Cemetery directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.  

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday evening, August 21, 2010, in the Hemingway Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Johnsonville Rescue Squad or the Johnsonville United Methodist Church. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the McCutchen family. Online Condolences may be sent to McKenzieFH.com.

Frances Morris

Frances Williams Morris, 82, of Georgetown, widow of Leroy L. Morris died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Myrtle Beach Estates.

Born on June 12, 1928 in Williams Hill she was a daughter of the late Ulysses Williams and the late Carrie Cribb Williams. Mrs. Morris was a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include two children, Gerald Morris (Brenda) of Georgetown and Elaine Lovely (Mike) of Rome, Ga.; six grandchildren, Ricky Morris (Melanie) of Georgetown, Jeffrey Morris (Misty) of Georgetown, Katie Edwards of Dallas, Ga., Melissa Patrick (Brian) of Covington, Ga., Sarah Lovely of Rome, Ga. and Clayton Lovely of Rome, Ga.; six great grandchildren, Haley Morris of Georgetown, Emily Morris of Georgetown, Randi Morris of Georgetown, Rivers Morris of Georgetown, Emma Patrick of Covington, Ga. and Kinsley Lovely of Rome, Ga.; and one sister, Juanita Dunnaway of Georgetown.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Edna Pope and Jackie Hall; and a brother, U.S. “Frank” Williams.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Clide Glover officiating. Burial will follow in the Sampit United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Graham Funeral Home and other times at 99 West Virginia Road.

Dionne Rice

Dionne Rice, 42,  of the Carvers Bay Community, Hemingway, South Carolina died Saturday, August 14, 2010 in Georgetown, SC.

Funeral services for Mr. Rice will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2010 at Tabernacle House Of Prayer. Burial will follow at Morning Glory Cemetery.

Mr. Rice was born March 12, 1968 in New Haven, CT to Apostle Edna Mae Rice and Ezekiel Rice, Sr. He was a floor finisher with Rice and Sons, and attended Tabernacle House of Prayer. 

He is survived by six children: Dionne Rice, Jr., Markel Rice, Brandon Scott, and Christian Xavier Rice all of Hemingway, SC, Olivia Sanders of Socastee, SC and Marissa Lania Rice of Poplar, SC;  his mother: Apostle Edna Rice: two brothers: Pastor Kevin Rice, and  Ezekiel J. Rice, Jr. both of Georgetown, SC, and Taviyon Odom of Hemingway, SC; adopted brother: Eric Sherald, Jr. of Salisbury, NC; adopted sister: Shantell McBride.

Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2010 until the time of service at Tabernacle House of Prayer.

Funeral service arrangements are entrusted and directed by Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.

Linda Stone

Linda Darleen Joye Stone, 50, of Johnsonville, a beloved mother and the cherished wife of James Leverne Stone, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday afternoon, August 17, 2010, at the Florence Carolina Hospital System.

Mrs. Stone was born the daughter of  Harold McLaurin Joye and Alma Linda Litchfield Joye on March 10, 1960 in Berkley County. She was a member of the Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church.   

She leaves behind her mother and husband; three sons, Kerry McLaurin “Mac” Laster, Derral Wayne (Deborah) Laster, and Charles Leverne (Alesha Hanna) Stone; two sisters, Amelia J. (Gregory) Crolley and Kathy J. (Steve Crolley) Powers; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening, August 19, 2010, at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday morning, August 20, 2010, at the Eaddy-Ford Cemetery directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
