Mary Doyle
Mary Louise Collins Doyle, 87, of Georgetown, SC, peacefully passed away on August 16, 2010.
She was born August 30, 1922 in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Dr. Okey Maxwell Staats and Josephine Fast Staats.
She graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1944.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Stokes Collins, Jr. of Georgetown, her eldest son Herbert Maxwell Collins (Chip) and daughter-in-law Patricia Hamilton Collins (Patti), both of Winder, GA.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Arthur Hazard Doyle of Georgetown, two sons, Francis Stokes Collins, III (Frank) and wife, Nancy of Mount Pleasant, SC, and David Morgan Collins of Georgetown. She was the grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mary was a longtime member of Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church where she was a choir member and on the Alter Guild.
She was an accomplished pianist and a very avid supporter of the Arts.
Mary was instrumental in bringing community concerts to Georgetown.
She was very involved with Plantation Tours in and around the surrounding Georgetown area.
Mary was a member of the Georgetown Garden Club and was a 4th generation member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was a school teacher for many years in the Georgetown County Public School System.
Relatives and friends of Mary are invited to attend her service on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home Thursday evening, August 19, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School (1301 N. Lawrence McCray
Lawrence O'Neil McCray, 68, of Andrews, SC, departed this life on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital, Georgetown, SC.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Mt. Lebanon AME Church in Andrews with Rev. Wallace J. McKnight, officiating.
Burial follows in the Church Cemetery under the direction of McKnight-Fraser Funeral Homes.
Mr. McCray son of the late Ellen D. McCray Greene and O'Neil McCray, was born November 13, 1941, he was a member of Mt. Lebanon AME Church, he attend Georgetown County Schools, he served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his children, Larry D. McCray, Benjamin McCray, Neil E. McCray, Andrews, SC, James O. McCray, Charlotte, NC, Steven McCray and Stephanie McCray of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Capt. Gregory McCray, Ft. Dix, NJ and Felicia Pressley, Atlanta, GA; his sisters, Sarah Williams, Willie Mae Lawson, Shirley Jiles of Andrews, SC, Pauline Rouse, Greensboro, NC and Elizabeth Salters, Homestead, FL; his brothers, James D. McCray, Frankie L. McCray, Leon McCray and Minister Anthony G. McCray all of Andrews, SC; 23 grandchildren.
Frank Sterle Jr.
Frank Joseph Sterle Jr. “Pap Pap,” age 58, died Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born in Morgantown, WV, he was a son of the late Maxine and Frank J. Sterle, Sr. Frank was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Shauna Sterle of Pawleys Island, SC; son, Joey Sterle and his partner Jason Baker of Vandergrift, PA; a daughter, Robin and spouse Mike Walls of Morgantown, WV; a stepson, Brad and spouse Staci Barnum of Carmichaels, PA; a stepdaughter, Shaye and spouse Ryan Heiskell of Georgetown, SC; grandchildren, Christian, Madison, Marshall, Tug, Phinn and Lillie and a sister, Belinda and spouse John McCormick of Morgantown, WV.
A Celebration of Life with friends and loved ones will be held at a later date.
