GEORGETOWN, S.C. — Friends of Laura Ferrante, the woman who was killed in her home last month, allegedly by a sword, have started a fund to help the family.
Anyone who would like to contribute to the Laura Ferrante Memorial Fund can do so at any local First Federal Bank.
This money will be used by daughters of Ferrante, Tory Gibson and Patrice White, who are now taking care of their 89-year-old grandmother — previously cared for by Ferrante.
Ferrante, 51, was found dead in her home at 531 Prior Drive in the early hours of February 22, authorities say.
She had large cut wounds to her head and neck, police say.
Ferrante’s 29-year-old son, Jonathan White, was arrested and charged with murder.
He is now being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center awaiting trial.
Ferrante shared her home with White and his 27-year-old sister, who is mentally challenged, authorities said.
According to a report by the Sun News, a friend of the family set up an account for Ferrante’s family at First Federal Bank.
