PAWLEYS ISLAND S.C. — Two men are in custody after a woman and her 19 year old son were kidnapped from their home on Pawleys Island early Wednesday.

Police say the 19 year old and the two suspects all knew each other from school.

The incident began at about 2:15 a.m. Wednesday when a Pawleys Island police officer responded to a kidnapping call at a home on Myrtle Avenue.

Late Wednesday, Dyshan Malik William Frasier, 19, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office. On Thursday, 17 year old Nequan Gerell Brown was arrested after turning himself in, according to Pawleys Island Police Cpl. Matt Elliott.

The victims are a 19 year old and his mother who said the two suspects were armed with guns when they were kidnapped from a house on the island.

County dispatchers received a call from a female who said she is a friend of the victims.

She said she was on the phone with the female victim when she heard her friend scream “they have a gun,” Pawleys police say.

The victims were ordered to get in a truck.

Police called the cell phone of the female victim who pretended to be talking to her sister.

Officers called the mother's cell phone and she pretended to be talking to her sister. She told police they were in the suspects' car in the parking lot of the WalMart in Georgetown.

While being watched by a deputy, the driver of the truck began driving away, disregarding the red light and turning left onto North Fraser Street.

The deputy attempted a traffic stop but the driver sped away, reaching a speed of 85 mph.

The chase continued into the West End of Georgetown until the driver hit a mailbox on Sims Street.

The driver was able to regain control of the truck and the chase resumed with the driver the hitting a sign on Sims Street.

He kept driving until reaching Levy Alley where he ran through a wire fence and hit a mound of dirt causing the truck to lose control once again.

The truck hit a house at the intersection of North Fraser and North Hazzard Street.

The deputy’s patrol car also hit the mound of dirt and was damaged.

The deputy saw two males jump out of the truck and run. Knowing they were armed, and because there was still one person in the truck, the deputy did not engage in a foot chase.

The deputy then saw the victims in the truck. They both said they had been kidnapped by the two men who ran after the crash.

Deputies found a gun next to the truck and a ski mask in the driver’s seat.
