GEORGETOWN, S.C. — A Saturday morning accident that resulted in severe injuries to two men also netted charges against both for allegedly driving under the influence.
The accident happened at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday on Oatland Road.
The S.C. Highway Patrol said Darrell Dozier, 30, of Georgetown, was driving a 2002 Pontiac four-door northbound when he went into the southbound lane and struck a 2010 Toyota Camry driven by 35 year old Johnny Lawrence, also of Georgetown.
Both were transported by helicopter to the Medical University of South Carolina, said Sgt. R.K. Hughes of the highway patrol.
He said both men have been charged with driving under the influence.
The extent of their injuries was unavailable Sunday.
