A student at Waccamaw High School, over the age of 16, allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a teacher at that school, according to sources.
Ray White, spokesman for the district, confirmed an investigation is taking place into “allegations of an inappropriate relationship between a teacher and student.”
Although the district did not name the school, other sources said the investigation is taking place at Waccamaw High.
The statement from the district continues by saying “because the matter is currently under investigation and involves confidential student and personnel issues, the district will not comment further at this time.”
Although the allegations have been reported to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, no criminal charges are expected because of the age of the student involved, according to Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Neil Johnson.
He said the district is “handling everything.”
"The allegations are being investigated in accordance with district policy and procedures," the statement from the district concludes.

I just watched a music video on CMT in which someone wrote a comment. It talked about the video sending a wrong message to kids, being unappropriate. It's about a school teacher and some cowboys. TV shows and music videos are getting out of hand. There are movies on TV which involve teachers and students in sexual relations. I never saw things like this growing up, and it's a shame what kids can watch all through the day and even see on the covers of magazines right in Wal-Mart. It's absolutely a disgrace that women go to such lengths to make a dollar. Posted by jlee on 11/12/2009 |
