Although it was not the $580 million jackpot, three huge Powerball Lottery tickets were sold in South Carolina and one of those tickets — worth $2 million — was sold at H&S Oil on East Main Street in Andrews.

The name of the winner and when the ticket was sold is unknown.

According to the SC Education Lottery Commission, two $1 million tickets were sold by retailers in Florence and Rock Hill.  Cruizers XII at 2124 N. Williston Rd. in Florence and MR Express on 2120 Nations Ford Rd. in Rock Hill were the lucky lottery retail locations.

The big winners matched all five white ball numbers drawn to win $1 million.

The person who bought the ticket in Andrews purchased PowerPlay for an extra $1, to have the $1 million Match 5 prize increased to $2 million.

140,000 winning tickets were sold in the Palmetto State totaling $5.3 million. These winners took home anywhere from $4 up to the $2 million prize.

Wednesday night's winning Powerball white ball numbers were 5, 16, 22, 23, 29 and red Powerball of 6.

The South Carolina Education Lottery advises all players to sign the back of their winning tickets.  Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. For complete information on claiming prizes, visit sceducationlottery.com.

Tickets sold in Arizona and Missouri matched all six numbers to share the $579.9 million jackpot.

The estimated Powerball jackpot for Saturday, December 1, is $40 million.

Proceeds from every dollar spent by players on the South Carolina Education Lottery are returned to the state in the form of funding for education, prizes, retailer commissions, and payment to contractors for goods and services.
