Georgetown High School’s co-athletics director, Al Hutchinson, is back on the job after two days of paid leave following his Horry County on a charge of driving under the influence.
GHS Principal Dr. Mike Cafaro said Hutchinson returned to his duties as co-athletics director and culinary arts teacher at the Georgetown Career Center Wednesday.
“He is doing a great job and we are proceeding as normal,” Cafaro said.
Hutchinson was arrested shortly after 3 a.m. Jan. 23, according to booking information at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. He was released on a $1,000 bail.
His attorney, Bert von Herrmann, said his client maintains his innocence and they both expect “a positive outcome.”
He said the matter is “a misunderstanding of circumstances” and “there was no indication of impairment we have seen.”
