The driver of this truck suffered a severe head injury but survived after running off U.S. Highway 701 and into the woods near Green Acres Mobile Home Park at about 2 p.m. Wednesday. The man, whose name has not been released, was transported by medical helicopter to Grand Strand Medical Center after he was freed from the overturned truck by county emergency workers using the jaws of life. Jeanne Travis said she witnessed the accident and the truck was smoking while the driver was trapped inside.
