One person died and three escaped injury after an accident in Williamsburg County early Saturday.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident happened on Highway 45 — also called Santee Road — at about 1:10 a.m.
A 2003 GMC pickup truck ran off the right side of the road and the driver over corrected and then ran off the left side of the road.
The truck, according to the Highway Patrol, then struck several trees and caught fire.
The driver — 19 year old Sidney Amerson of Andrews — died in the crash.
The three passengers in the truck — 19-year-old Bradley Thomas, 17-year-old Brooke Bryant and 17-year-old Staci Cribb — were able to get out of the vehicle and did not require medical treatment, the Highway Patrol says.
The accident is still under investigation.
