Georgetown police have arrested two people and are looking for a third in connection with an alleged armed robbery.
Police have been told the man they are trying to find — 31 year old Roderick Greene of Prince Street — may be armed and dangerous.
According to police, a 19 year old Andrews man called 911 at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday saying he had been robbed while he was on the west end of Front Street.
Georgetown Police Capt. Nelson Brown said the man was at home early Thursday when he received a call from Greene who asked him to drive to Georgetown to go to a club.
Police say Greene asked the victim to bring some “flash money” to help them pick up some women.
The man arrived in Georgetown with $850 in cash and met up with Green.
Capt. Brown said Greene told the victim they had to go pick up some other friends before they went to the club. When they arrived at a house on West Front Street, they were met by 38 year old Sean Brown of California.
Both Greene and Brown allegedly robbed the victim of his cash and a necklace at gunpoint.
They then fled the scene and the victim, who suffered minor injuries, found somewhere to call for help.
The victim did not know the California man but did know Greene, so police began their search at his residence.
When they arrived, they saw a man standing behind the house who started walking in the opposite direction.
He was stopped and was asked to go with the officers to the police station to be interviewed and he agreed.
He was identified as Sean Brown who reportedly had several inconsistencies with his story.
He was mirandized and “confessed to his part in the armed robbery,” the report states.
Police say Brown identified Greene as his accomplice in the crime.
So far, Greene has not been located but warrants charging him with armed robbery have been signed,” Capt. Brown said.
Police also arrested 24 year old Danielle Carlton. She is an acquaintance of Green and has been charged with giving false information to police.
Anyone with information on Greene’s whereabouts should call police at 545-4300.
