A 50 year old woman who was visiting her son at the Georgetown County Detention Center was reportedly threatened by a 19 year old inmate July 6.

The woman said as she was speaking to her son, the other inmate stood up and “made a hand sign like he was shooting at her,” the report states.

The man also allegedly said he was going to get his brother to shoot up the woman’s house.

He also made a threat towards the woman’s son, she said.

Underage drinkers

Deputies were called to Inlet Point in Garden City July 4 because of two underage girls who were drinking.

When the deputy asked the 17 year old girl to stand up, she could not do it without falling over.

She said she had consumed two or three drinks.

She was arrested.

The second teen who had reportedly been drinking was gone when the officer arrived.

Sibling attack

A 21 year old Georgetown man called 911 July 8 after he was attacked by his 18 year old sister July 8,

Deputies responded to the Missroon Street home and met with the man who said his sister “has mental issues and just went off,” the report states.

He said she grabbed him, dug her fingernails into his skin and then picked up a knife and said she was going to cut him “like she did before,” the report continues.

She did not cut him because another family member got the knife away from her.

The man decided not to press charges against his sister.

Possible daycare abuse

The parent of a 2 year old child told a deputy he thinks his son was assaulted while at a Pawleys Island daycare July 7.

The man said when he picked the toddler up from the daycare he noticed several bruises on his left arm.

He said he is concerned the bruising may have come from a worker.

The man said he spoke to the director who said she would talk to the employees about the matter.

Bad check

A Georgetown man reported a Georgetown woman wrote him a bad check in an amount exceeding $1,200.

The woman reportedly wrote the check on behalf of a logging company in February and when the matter was not cleared up it was turned over to a collection agency.

Because the check was worth more than $1,000 it is a under the jurisdiction of the Solicitor’s Office.

Theft from vehicle

More than $1,200 worth of items were taken from a vehicle parked at Creek Ratz in Murrells Inlet.

Although the theft occurred in mid-June, the report was released this week.

The owner of the vehicle said her car was in the parking lot about two hours and when she returned she saw a door window had been busted out.

Taken from the vehicle was a $300 purse, a $200 wallet.

Inside the purse was more than $200 worth of accessories. Her wallet contained $500 in cash and several credit and debit cards.

Teens busted at

a checkpoint

While conducting a license check point on South Island Road at about 2 a.m. Tuesday, deputies noticed a truck pull into a driveway and turn around before reaching the road block.

A deputy stopped the vehicle and saw the driver was a 14 year old and there were three teenage passengers inside.

When the four were ordered out of the vehicle, the deputy saw two open cans of beer inside.

Also found was a small bag of what is believed to be marijuana.

All four were charged with possession of marijuana and with being minors in possession of alcohol.

The 14 year old was charged for driving without a license.

The preceding reports, compiled by Scott Harper, were collected  from local law enforcement offices.
