The following reports were collected  from local law enforcement offices:

A 25-year-old Pawleys Island woman said she was raped by a stranger inside her home Dec.  24.

The woman said she was sleeping at about 4 a.m. when a man broke a security chain on her door and entered the residence.

The man then walked in the bedroom, punched the woman in the face and then ripped off her clothing and raped her, the victim told deputies.

She said she tried to hit him with a lamp but missed. The man then threw her on the ground and then left.

The woman said she did not get a good look at her attacker, so she was unable to provide a good description.

The woman called her father who drove her to the hospital.

The suspect has not been found.

Wife attacks husband

A 64-year-old Andrews man said he was assaulted by his 35-year-old estranged wife in the parking lot of Jack’s Mini Mall on Main Street Dec. 23.

He said he and his wife have been separated for five months. She walked up to him in the parking lot and they started arguing about getting back together.

He said his wife jerked a cup of coffee he was holding and threw it in his face causing his lip to swell and bleed.

The woman also allegedly pulled three gold chains from the man’s neck.

The woman told police she was defending herself. She said she grabbed the coffee cup after he said he was going to “shove a gun down her throat because he (has) been hearing about what she has been doing in the streets,” the report states.

She said it was her mother that ended the altercation.

Alcohol and drugs

While in the Plantersville area at after sunset Dec. 26, deputies saw a SUV in a small field off Micah Drive.

When the deputies approached, they saw an open can of beer in the floorboard between the feet of the driver.

They told him to get out of the vehicle and then asked if he had anything illegal in his pockets. He admitted he had a bag of marijuana.

The drugs were seized and the driver — a 56-year-old man — was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and having a suspended driver’s license.

A passenger in the vehicle — a 58-year-old man — was ticketed because he also had an open container of beer.

The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

Passed out on Christmas

A 36-year-old Murrells Inlet man was reportedly passed out in his bed Christmas Day while his 3-year-old child wondered the house alone.

The man picked the toddler up from his ex-wife’s home for visitation at about 11:30 a.m. Christmas.

About two hours later the man called his ex-wife and said he was taking their daughter back to her home.

When he had not made it back 45 minutes late, the woman went to the home of her ex but no one would answer the door.

She said she could see her daughter running around inside and once the door was unlocked they discovered the man passed out in the bed.

It took several attempts to wake him, but when he finally woke up his speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet.

The little girl told her mother her daddy was asleep the whole time she was there and she could not wake him up.

The woman wanted the incident recorded for future court proceedings.

Bar fight

A 47-year-old Pawleys Island man said he was at Island Bar and Grill Christmas Day when another man walked up and started an argument.

The victim said he started walking to his car when the other man walked up and attacked him by punching him on the face.

The victim then got into his car and left.

Window breaker

A woman from Saints Delight Road called 911 Dec. 24 because her brother-in-law was breaking windows in their house.

The woman said everyone had been drinking and the 30-year-old man started breaking the windows.

She said he left but returned later and broke other windows. The woman said he also tried to set the house on fire by igniting some curtains.

The man the  set a bed sheet on fire. The small blazes were extinguished by the suspect’s brother.

The man was arrested.
