A man from New Beginnings Road in Andrews said his neighbor, a 62 year old man, came out of his house and fired four rounds from a pistol July 22.
The neighbor then jumped on a lawnmower and rode to the property line and started saying the complainant’s music was too loud.
When the complainant asked the man about the gun, the man responded, “damn right I got a gun.”
The man on the mower then started cutting the victim’s pasture even though it was about 11 p.m.
The deputy spoke to the suspect who said he was cutting grass to keep his neighbor awake since their music was keeping him awake.
Both parties were advised of the noise ordinance and to call if the problems continued.
Unwanted people
Deputies were called to Navigators Drive in Pawleys Island because of trespassers.
The officers were met by a group of people who said they were supposed to be vacationing in the house but when they arrived they saw it was already occupied.
The deputies contacted the owner of the house who lives in North Carolina.
She told them the group who spoke to the officers were the ones who rented the house.
Inside the house, the officers did not find any people but they did see a dog, suitcases, clothing and other items.
It was later learned the daughter of the owner had given some friends permission to stay at the house.
Those people were called and responded to collect their belongings and dog.
Copper theft
An employee of Century 21 on Black River Road called police July 22.
She said when she arrived at work she saw someone had pried open an air conditioning unit and took the copper from inside.
Damage is estimated at about $2,000.
Assaulted by neighbor
A woman in the 2300 block of Prince Street said she has been having problems with her female neighbor recently.
She told police the woman was intoxicated and got in her face and started calling her profane names.
She said the woman then punched her on the head twice with a closed fist.
The accused woman had left the area by the time police arrived.
Rock thrown at car
A 40 year old Georgetown woman said she was driving on Greentown Road at about 5:40 p.m. July 22 when she heard a rock hit her car.
The rock broke the passenger’s side window on the vehicle.
The woman said she saw several children in a yard and believes they are responsible.
However, a woman she spoke to at the residence denied the children were in the yard at all.
No charges have been filed.
The preceding reports, compiled by Scott Harper, were collected from local law enforcement offices.
