Deputies were sent to the Marshwalk behind Devines Fish House in Murrells Inlet July 15 because of a woman they describe as being “drunk and disorderly.”
“The aroma of alcohol coming from her breath overwhelmed me,” one of the deputies wrote in the report.
The 48 year old woman was yelling and cursing at a man on the boat and ignored orders from the officers to quiet down.
When she was told she would be arrested if she did not stop, she — using very profane language — said she did not care.
She was then arrested for disorderly conduct.
While in the patrol car, she started apologizing and was begging not to be taken to jail.
“I told her she was given more than enough chances to stop cussing,” the officer wrote.
The woman said she usually does not drink but fell on hard times after her mother and boyfriend both died.

It’s unknown if someone placed the kitten in the trash can or if it went in the can on its own.

The owner of a a Pawleys Island restaurant said one of his employees — a 25 year old man — received a “strange” phone call after the business closed for the evening July 15.

The suspect also threatened to burn down the building.
The victim said he thinks the caller may have been drunk.

Dog neglect
A Kensington resident called the Sheriff’s Office July 17 to report a case of dog neglect.
The officer responded to the Middleton Street home and saw the Collie in a pen in the back yard.
The whites of the dog’s eyes were yellow and he would not stand up.
The food in the pen had mold in it and was full of water. The dog appeared to be dehydrated and acted as if something was wrong with his back legs.
Animal Control was contacted and took possession of the dog. The owner of the dog was not home.
The deputy wrote the dog was euthenized because of his health.
Teen drug arrest
A 16 year old female from Pawleys Island was arrested shortly past midnight July 17 by a deputy who was patrolling the area of Hagley boat landing.
The officer saw two “suspicious” vehicles so he stopped to check them out.
After getting out of his car, the deputy saw two males and two females walking from the dock.
When asked what they were doing, they said they were looking at the stars.
The females said they were already there when the two males arrived. They said they did not know each before that evening.
They gave the deputy permission to search their vehicles.
Inside one of the cars was a small amount of marijuana which belonged to one of the females.
After being charged, the teen was released to a parent.
The preceding reports, compiled by Scott Harper, were collected from local law enforcement offices.
