A manager of the Murrells Inlet Bank of America reported a suspicious man in the bank Dec. 21.
The worker said the man had on black gloves and a cap pulled low on his head. He also had in a waistband a handgun, a pair of brass knuckles and a knife.
The man was there with his mother who spent about 15 minutes conducting business.
During that time, the man “paced throughout the bank and appeared to make several customers and employees nervous,” the report states.
Once the subject’s mother finished her business, the manager walked out to the parking lot and asked the man to not take weapons in the bank.
The man got confrontational and said he has a right to carry weapons anywhere he pleases.
The manager was told to call 911 if the man returns to the bank.
Man reports provocative
Christmas display
A man from Fieldgate Circle in Pawleys Island said someone messed with the Christmas display in his yard Dec. 21.
The man said when he turned the yard decorations on that day he saw the deer had been moved and were — according to the report — “placed in a position as to indicate fornication.”
There was no actual damage to the display. The man said he wanted a report filed because it was not the first time someone messed with the decorations.
The man said he would install a deer camera in an attempt to identify the suspects.
Big Apple man
arrested in MI
A 21-year-old New York City resident was arrested for being drunk in public and causing problems at the Murrells Inlet Kangaroo convenience store.
Deputies received the call at about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 20. The man was walking in the roadway on Highway 17 and was nearly hit by a vehicle.
When officers arrived, they noticed the man was intoxicated.
A worker at the Kangaroo said the man had been in the store trying to buy beer but had been refused because he had no identification.
The worker said the man was asked to leave after he walked into the beer cooler. The then went outside and started harassing customers, trying to get them to buy him beer.
That is when police were called.
Assaulted by her uncle
A 63-year-old Georgetown woman says she was groped by her 68-year-old uncle Dec. 20.
The woman said she was cooking supper for her aunt when her uncle walked in, put his arm around her and grabbed her breasts.
She said he did the same thing a couple of months earlier.
The woman said she does not want to press charges but wants a report on file.
