A 22-year-old man from Marion met with a Georgetown County deputy March 12 and said he had been threatened by his employer, as they were working chipping trees near Garrison Road.
The man said he accidentally broke a component on a chipper as he was working.
He said his employer became irate, began cursing and threatened to hit him with a stick that he picked up off the ground.
The victim said he left to avoid any further confrontation.
Theft from shed
A man from the 6200 block of Pleasant Hill Drive man reported someone burglarized a shed behind his home March 11.
Items taken include a $2,600 utility trailer, a $2,500 lawn tractor, a four wheeler and a generator.
Money stolen from church
In late February, a fundraiser was held for a St. Paul Waccamaw United Methodist youth mission trip that will take place this summer.
On March 9, a church worker reported $345 from the money raised was missing.
It’s unknown who took the money or when it was taken.
More stolen cash
A deputy was sent to the 100 block of Arcadia Road March 13 where a man reported an undisclosed amount of cash had been removed from his safe.
It’s believed the theft occurred between March 2 and March 5.
The man said the only people in his home during that time were his babysitter and her husband.
There was no forced entry into the safe so it’s believed someone discovered the combination.
Not all the money was taken.
There was $1,200 still in the safe when the theft was discovered.
A woman from Massick Lane in Pawleys Island said someone stabbed a tire on her Jeep March 13.
She thinks a 63-year-old woman she has had a dispute with may be responsible.
Damaged school marquee
An official from Andrews High School showed a deputy the school’s marquee at the entrance that had been damaged.
It’s believed the damage was caused by someone throwing rocks or shooting a BB or pellet gun.
There are no suspects.
Information is subject to change as the investigation proceeds. Individuals arrested and/or charged have not been convicted.
