A 27-year-old Pawleys Island woman said she has reason to believe her grandfather — a 65-year-old man — molested her 4-year-old daughter.

The woman said she was at her grandfather’s house earlier this month and her daughter — who was wearing pants — left the living room. She returned a while later and was not wearing pants.

When the woman asked her daughter about her pants, she said her grandfather told her to take them off.

The woman walked to her grandfather’s bedroom and saw him performing a lewd act on himself.

He stopped when he saw her walk in the room.

The woman said it is not the first time she has caught her grandfather committing such an act.

The woman also said she tried to give her daughter a kiss and the 4-year-old tried to kiss her in an adult manner.

When the woman asked her who taught her to do that, the girl said it was her grandfather.

The case is still being investigated.

Business burglary

A burglary was reported at Inlet Repairs on Highway 707 Dec. 13.

A laptop computer and an air card were stolen.

The area was searched but a suspect was not located.

Vacationer’s valuable

necklace vanishes

A couple from Johnson, TN returned home Dec. 12 after spending a week at their timeshare in Wachesaw and discovered some items were missing.

Among the items that are gone is a 3/4 karat diamond solitaire heirloom necklace, valued at about $10,000.

The woman said she cannot say for sure if the items were stolen.

She said the maid service was the only ones who had access to their room.

MI burglary

A man from the 600 block of Little Tony Ave. in Murrells Inlet called 911 at about 8 p.m. Dec. 13 when he saw someone with a flashlight entering his neighbor’s home.

The man said his neighbor was away for the evening which made him concerned about what he saw.

Once the owner arrived, he said the only thing he noticed missing was a heavy duty stock pot that had been in the kitchen.

Sleeping woman attacked

A 27-year-old Andrews woman said she was asleep at about 4:15 a.m. Dec. 13 when her brother let her 28-year-old ex-boyfriend into their home when he knocked on the door.

The man reportedly woke the woman up and started arguing with her.

She said when she got up and tried to walk away, he grabbed her and started choking her.

The woman said she believed she had a seizure causing her to pass out but she said she did not need medical attention.

When the woman called 911, her ex fled the scene and was not found.

Threatened by brother

A 58-year-old Plantersville woman called deputies after she was threatened by her 62-year-old brother Dec. 11.

The woman said her brother began to fuss about what she had cooked for supper.

She told him he could move out if he did not like it and he got mad.

He allegedly said he would kill her before he moved out.

The woman said she did not want her brother locked up.

She was satisfied with simply having a report on file.

Information  is subject to change as the investigation proceeds. Individuals arrested and/or charged have not been convicted.
