Today I took a cold shower, and sadly this was not my first.
My family loves taking showers; the hotter, the better.
Eric included, they would each take two showers a day, if they could. Chandler would like to move into the bathtub permanently.
She once asked me to bring her lunch in the tub. She is crazy.
My family likes the water so hot, that the back of their legs turn bright red.
This love of hot showers has left me often with no choice but to shower with cold water.
Now, I know that I am blessed to have kids that like to be clean.
Especially the boys. I mean, I know lots of moms that have to fight their kids into the shower.
But, a girl can only take so many chilly showers before she gets a little frustrated. Gentleman, this may come as a shock, but if a woman has goose bumps from, let’s say a freezing shower, shaving your legs is not possible.
Because if you attempt to shave while you have goose bumps, you will in fact, shave off enough DNA to clone yourself at a later date.
And coming from someone with ‘Italian Heritage,” not shaving on a daily basis is not good.
To remedy this hot water situation, I have tried the egg timer, which they either ignore, or I get sidetracked and forget to use.
Since Eric loves showers as much as the kids, he is happy to let them shower as long as they want. So, counting on him to help me remember isn’t going to work.
What I need, is to invent a shower head that either turns the water cold, or shuts off completely after ten minutes.
But what I would probably end up with is kids (and Eric) covered in soap and the water locked off.
Our neighbors love us, but I doubt they would love it if I kept showing up at their house with soapy children.
But even that’s probably better than me showing up with my towel at their house to shower.
What’s a girl to do? I guess I’d better get used to cold showers, and Eric better develop a love of hairy-legged women.
