La-Kendall Anderson, age 51, of Jacksonville, Fla. died on Monday, July 15, 2013 at St. Vincent Community Hospice in Jacksonville.
Mr. Anderson was the son of the late Rev. Gary Anderson and Catherine Anderson of Georgetown, SC.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at St. Michael A.M.E. Church on 3335 Pennyroyal Road in Georgetown, where the Rev. Brenda Blackstock, pastor officiated.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Visitation with final viewing was from noon until the hour of service in the church.
A viewing service was held on Saturday, July 20, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Linen-Knox Funeral Home Chapel at 1632 Emanuel Street in Georgetown.
Survivors include his mother, Catherine Anderson of Georgetown; one daughter, Brittney Anderson of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Roselyn Anderson of Georgetown; one brother, Michael Anderson of Haymarket, Va.; and a host of loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Family and friends may call or visit the home of the mother at 845-546-86692 on 2010 Emanuel Street in Georgetown.

Helen McBride Broach, age 92, of Georgetown, widow of John A. Broach, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Broach was born in Strawberry on November 4, 1920, a daughter of the late John William McBride and Elizabeth Lee Avant McBride.
She grew up in St. Stephen and attended school in New York City.
Mrs. Broach graduated from Joan of Arc High School in New York City and attended business school.
She retired from the Georgetown County Treasurer’s Office.
Mrs. Broach was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church and the Susanna Wesley Church School class.
Surviving are two daughters, Elaine Raines (David) of Frankfort, Ky. and Shirley Monteith (Charles) of Columbia, S.C.; a step-daughter, Jacqueline Bruorton of Decatur, Ala.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tommy and Alice Watson.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning, July 23, 2013, at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.
Officiating was the Rev. Dr. Dora Gafford.

Quinn Smith of Georgetown died Sunday, July 21, 2013.
Ms. Smith was born and reared in Georgetown.
She enjoyed living, working, and traveling throughout the United States and the world.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church.
Inurnment will be private.

William R. Smith, age 75, of Pawleys Island passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Tidelands Hospice House in Georgetown following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in and raised in New Jersey, he was a son of Charles E. Smith and Frances M. (Haas) Smith who also survive him.
William served 10 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, 8 years active duty and two years in the Reserves.
A graduate of Florida International University (FIU), William received degrees in both Sociology and Anthropology.
He served as a corrections officer and lieutenant for Miami Dade Florida for 26 years, moving to Pawleys Island six years ago with his wife Gail, following retirement.
Surviving William in addition to his parents are his wife of 41 years, Gail; two sons, Andrew and his wife Faith of Florida, Matthew and his wife Shushura of Georgia; a grandson, Pierson; a brother, Pete (Debbie); a sister, Pam (Greg) Gibbs; his aunt, Joan Hoyt; and many cousins, nieces and nephews from coast to coast who will miss him dearly.
William loved his garden, traveling and art, but the most important love in his life was his family.

Carmen R. Russo, age 87, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2013 after a short illness.
Born in Pittsfield Mass., he is survived by his wife, Joyce A. Russo; his daughter, Margaret (Margie) Raymond; his son, Carmen A. Russo; his brothers, Albert C Russo and Anthony T Russo; his sister, Mary D Pizzuto; besides a host of loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Russo was a World War II veteran touring both Atlantic and Pacific on the George A. Johnson D.E.583.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator at Economy Lumber in California for more than 30 years.
He enjoyed his golfing with family and friends as a member of the Seagull Golf Course.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Pawleys Island Community Church Chapel.
Officiating will be Rev. Don Williams.

Michael Oneal Squires, age 57, formerly of Georgetown, passed away on July 19, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Squires was born in Georgetown, a son of the late Junior Patterson Squires and the late Sara “Lizzie” Reynolds Squires.
He was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church in Georgetown where he was a member of the United Methodist Men Club.
He retired after 33 years of service from Georgetown County School District where he was a locksmith.
Surviving are his brother, Carl P. Squires and his wife Carolyn; two nieces, Melissa Clemons and her husband Jason, and Tammy Williams, all of Pawleys Island; four great nephews, Jackson Clemons, Hudson Clemons, Patrick Williams, and Parker Williams; and a special friend, Sondra Morris of Georgetown.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday July, 24, 2013 at Wayne United Methodist Church in Georgetown.
Visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
