A Goose Creek woman, the passenger on a motorcycle being driven by her husband, escaped serious injury when their bike was involved in an accident.

A  Pawleys Island woman, driving a 1997 Lexus, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to yield the right of way.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol, on Sunday, identified the woman as 52 year old Pamela Collins.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Brent Kelly said Collins was pulling out of the driveway of a business at 11421 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island at about 7:30 p.m. as the motorcycle was being driven south.

She pulled in front of the motorcycle. The driver swerved to avoid hitting the car but did hit her rear bumper.

Collins allegedly lleft but was found a short time later at her home.

Kelly said she told officers she did not know she had been hit by the motorcycle.

He said the male motorcycle driver was uninjured and his wife suffered minor injuries. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.
