There were no serious injuries when a boat overturned and hit the jetties in Murrells Inlet at around 2 p.m. today.
Officials say there were three people on the boat which was anchored to the jetties. When they pulled up their anchor, the boat hit the jetties and capsized.
When the original call went out, it was believed only two people had been on the boat.
A Parasail Express boat operator rescued one woman who was take to Grand Strand Medical Center with minor injuries.
Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire, The U.S. Coast Guard, S.C. Department of Natural Resources, and the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office responded to help.
The others on the boat said they did not need medical attention.
Central Dispatch, a little while after the scene was cleared by emergency personnel, someone called 911 and reported seeing someone in the water but it was determined what they saw was debris from the boat which was scattered over a wide area.
