A man who robbed a 24-hour convenience store early Monday reportedly tried to hide his face a baby wipe.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a man walked into the 521 Mini Mart near the Sampit community at about 2 a.m. Monday.
There were two female employees in the store at the time.
One of them told deputies the man walked in covering his mouth with what she thought was a baby wipe.
The man asked the clerk if she had anything for a toothache and she said the store sold Orajel.
The clerk placed a bottle of the medicine on the counter and the man then said he was there to rob the store, the report states.
The man then produced a gun which, according to the clerk, was like the one the responding deputy had in his holster, a Glock .40 caliber.
The woman gave the suspect money from the register and he then walked out of the store. It’s unknown if the man left in a vehicle or on foot.
No one was hurt in the robbery.
The man was described as a black male who was wearing a black beret, sunglasses and a black coat.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call the Sheriff’s Office at 546-5102.
