Firefighter accidentally shot in leg

A Midway firefighter is recovering after accidentally shooting himself this afternoon.
Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson says deputies responded to the accidental shooting at Midway Fire Rescue Station 82 on Beaumont Lane in Pawleys Island at 4:14 p.m. today.
They had been notified that a firefighter accidentally shot himself in the leg while handling his own pistol in the parking lot.
Georgetown County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the incident.
