Mount Pleasant man dies in second fatal accident since Friday
Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson has identified a man who died in an accident in Prince George Village Saturday evening.
The accident happened at about 7:24 p.m. on Fen Lane near Vanderbilt Blvd.
Midway Fire Rescue Chief Doug Egginan says the 2010 Chevrolet pickup left the road and struck a power transformer. The Highway Patrol says the vehicle caught fire.
Johnson said 20-year-old Kevin Henderson of Mount Pleasant died in the crash.
Another person in the truck — 21-year-old David Dukes of Columbia — was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
This is the second fatality in the county in less than 48 hours.
At about 12:55 a.m. Friday, 19-year-old — Dequan Goss of Delmas Lane in the Georgetown County portion of Hemingway — was killed in a one vehicle accident at the intersection of County Line and Bullard Roads.
