A woman from Lakeshore Drive in Pawleys Island was unsure what damaged her vehicle when she met with a deputy Jan. 31.

The woman said she was driving on Beaumont Drive when she heard a loud “bang sound” then felt the wind circulate through her vehicle. Once she arrived home she saw her left rear passenger window was shattered.

Nothing besides shattered glass was found inside the car.

Poker then a beer bottle bash

A 48-year-old Murrells Inlet woman is accused of using a beer bottle to bash a man in the head early Sunday morning.

It happened at a home in the 900 block of Derrick Lane after four people had spent the night drinking and playing poker.

At about 4 a.m. a man who lives at the house went to bed. He was soon awakened by the suspect yelling in the living room. She then forced her way into the man’s bedroom where she grabbed a beer bottle and hit him on the back of the head.

The man wrestled to get the woman off of him.

The man said he called 911 so deputies could calm the woman down but he did not want to press charges.

The woman said she was acting in self defense. She said she and the man were arguing and he started choking her. She said she then picked up the bottle and hit him.

However, the two others in the house confirmed the man’s version of events.

No one was arrested since the man did not want to pursue the matter.

Teen vandal arrested

Deputies arrested a 17-year-old from Wintersweet Lane in Murrells Inlet Saturday evening after he allegedly punched holes in his family’s home.

Deputies were called to the home for similar reasons the previous evening.

His mother said she could no longer handle the stress of his violent outbursts and she feared for her safety.

The officers found the teen on a back porch smoking a cigarette.

The teen’s father is out of state working so a deputy spoke to him on the phone. He said he did want to press charges because of the damage.

They took the Sheetrock

A woman said she and her Realtor stopped at a home in the 1300 block of South Waccamaw Drive in Garden City Saturday and discovered the house had been burglarized.

She said when they opened the door to a storage room they saw the Sheetrock and insulation had been removed from a wall.

It will cost about $1,500 to repair the damage.

Information is subject to change as the investigation proceeds. Individuals arrested and/or charged have not been convicted.
